This mod was originally released as the CastleMiner Z Modding community's first public mod, however due to discussions around what is considered a "cheat" (unfair to vanilla players), this mod was officially outlawed despite my extended attempts to convince them otherwise and was thus taken down.Įvery trace of me and this mod may as well be gone, out of a collective decision from the staff team in the main CastleMiner server who also run the modding server, I am no longer able to access the modding resources that were once available to me which enabled this mod to be possible and the other two discontinued projects that could have seen the light of day which featured a lot more than this mod has to offer. This mod can only be found on this page (NexusMods) and nowhere else, if you find it anywhere but here it was likely reuploaded without my permission and you really shouldn't download it elsewhere anyway. This mod is illegal within CastleMiner Z's speedrunning community as only vanilla clients are allowed. zip file into your CastleMiner Z game folder Open a separate File Explorer window to your Downloads folder or wherever it was saved when you downloaded it.Open up your CastleMiner Z game folder (found through your Steam Library - Right click CastleMiner Z on the list, click "Properties", "Local Files", then click "Browse").Bugfixes, balancing, optimization, and tweaks. (Walls are too expensive, coal can't be made from logs, bloodstone guns cost an arm and a leg, teleport station recipes are weird, etc.) (Rifle has same accuracy values as Shotgun, SMG is more accurate than Pistol, scoping doesn't affect accuracy, gun values in general are wack, etc.) (Setting your Steam name to a certain name prevents you from being kicked or banned from lobbies, more I'm probably forgetting) (Maximize button is greyed out in windowed mode, gun gems don't have their material color, crate arrow keys are reversed, infinite ammo bug, etc.) (Laser Drill particle memory leak, invalid torches and blocks, Creative shift click, etc.) Genre: First-Person Shooter, Survival, Action/AdventureĪ few weeks ago I reviewed a game called Redshirt, developed by The Tiniest Shark, and I gave it a pretty poor review and went as far as to state that it was the worst game I have played in quite a while.(Link) Subscribe to SteelMerkava / Proto on YouTube! That was until CastleMiner Zshowed me what a truly bad game is. I can honestly state, that in my opinion, CastleMiner Zis the worst game I have ever played that I can remember. Now before you pass this review off as just a troll saying mean things about an indie game, let us take the time to mine into the exact details of why I dislike the waste of time and money that is CastleMiner Z(pun intended). The first thing you’ll notice about CastleMiner Zupon playing is the resemblance and similarity to Mojang’s famous survival/sandbox Minecraft. To those of you who play Minecraft, you will most likely feel like CastleMiner Zis a modified version of Minecraft with an HD texture pack, guns, and dragons. CastleMiner Zwas released in 2011 on the Xbox Live Indie Arcade, which is a store on the Xbox platforms in which indie developers can publish their games.įor the most part, you wouldn’t be entirely wrong to feel this way. In fact, DigitalDNA Games claim CastleMiner Zto be the all-time best-selling indie game on the Xbox Live Arcade, but what they really mean is that it’s the all-time best-selling indie game on the indie arcade, not Xbox as a whole. It’s easily beaten by many other indie games that weren’t added to the indie arcade, like Minecraft, Terraria, etc. The reason why the date and where this was originally published is relevant is because the whole thing was a sales tactic by DigitalDNA Games.
